Since the amount of infotainment options is increasing in almost every vehicle, a sufficient power source is required to accommodate all of these features. This is exactly why the 48-volt electrical system has become a core component for every manufacturer as this system can easily accommodate an array of infotainment options. Furthermore, this electrical system is not limited only to infotainment options, as many manufacturers are using these systems to power different functions of the car. For example let’s take Bentley, which is considered to be one of the most extravagant vehicles on the market today. The British car manufacturer uses the 48 volt electrical systems to power their electric sway bar which is used to improve the vehicles overall control. Another prominent example is how Audi is using the 48-volt electrical system to power an electric supercharger for their latest flagship line of vehicles. This exonerates the fact that the 48-volt electrical system is not limited to powering gizmos in a vehicle as it can also be used to increase the performance of a vehicle.

This electrical system can easily integrate with electric cars and actually has the capacity of improving fuel efficiency. In order to reduce the fuel consumption levels of the vehicle using a lithium-ion unit and a sub 1 kWh battery pack which helps conserve space and also discharges electricity to the vehicle’s 12-volt accessories.  Furthermore, many experts have claimed that efficiency of this electrical system can also be improved by simply using a larger battery pack but due to state regulations that are not an option company can implement. However, even without a larger battery pack, this electrical system has provided every automobile manufacturer with an optimum power source.
